We welcome everyone in our communities to join the Catholic Community in Preble County (St. John - New Paris, St. Mary - Camden & Visitation of the BVM-Eaton) and Oxford (St. Mary- Oxford) as we host this fun, family event at the Preble County Historical Society! ! Entertainment!
The Bergstrasse Boys will be headlining our Oktoberfest in the Ampitheater. The Bergstrasse Boys are in the middle of their 3rd season Together. They are a group of friends who have played together in other bands previously. They are based out of Hamilton, Ohio. They play at many festivals and Oktoberfests! The Bergenrtasse Boys play a fun mix of traditional German musicalong with some popular rock and pop hits with a German twist!
The War Horse Event is our entertainment! We are the Ohio Warhorses/War Horse Events, a team of full contact Medieval combatants. We fight in Steel with steel, no scripts and real Hits. A Modern Continuation of a Medieval sport, we train and compete in 1 on 1 fights for skill through group or team fights in which the goal is to be the last man standing, when 3 points of contact hit the ground you are out and "stay where you lay" as a obstacle in the arena for other fighters until the end of the round. In our melees fighters are allowed to strike eith their weapon, punch, kick, trip, throw, grapple and more but we may not thrust nor strike the back of the knee, the groin, the throat from 3 to 9 or the spine from 12 to 6. All other strikes are legal. We train weekly together when we are not at events or tournaments, wether that be strength and Conditioning or drills and rounds of fighting in armour specifically. We have fought and displayed what we do at things as varied as sports expos, Breweries, churches, festivals, retirement homes, private parties and the list goes on!

All Craft Vendors are welcome to set up starting 12:00 (noon) on Sunday, Ocotber 8 at the Preble County Historical Society. Please come to the main entrance and be directed to the craft vendor area. The Cake Walk is back by popular demand! Can you help us by baking a cake for the Oktoberfest Cake Walk?
This popular game was loved by all at the Parish Picnic!!
Drop off cakes at the Oktoberfest in the kid's area. Please place cakes on disposable trays as cakes will be given away.

Kid's Cookie Decorating Contest!

Bring your Decorated Cookie and let the crowd decide who is the Winner!!!!
All children ages 7-17 are encouraged and welcome to bring a decorated cookie for judging to the Oktoberfest!!! The cookie can be decorated in a fall theme or pick your favorite saint!!!! The cookies will be displayed and boxes provided for the community to vote on their favorite decorated cookie! The cookies will be judged on appearance only. Use your imaginations and have fun!!! Please drop cookies off no later than 4:00 pm. The Winner will be announced at 7:15 pm at the Oktoberfest! Good luck and have fun!!!!
